  1. I have always been amazed that the only demographics that matter to advertisers are the 18-49 year olds. You are completely right; the 50+ have MONEY! I remember when they canceled “Murder, She Wrote,” even though it was the most watched show on television. It wasn’t the most watched in their desired age range.

    In thinking about your dilemma, there is another option to getting publicity: Start your own group and grow it. Strength lies not in a large number of separate individuals but in an organized group of size. I’m sure that you could build a community both online and in person. Then I’m sure they would take some notice.

  2. Good idea Tammy! It’s just that as a therapist I have years of disappointing experience trying to get groups working together. I did hear from the editor of my newspaper though, and he is being very responsive! – Laura
