Find inspiration everywhere!

“I’m out there trying to make the impossible happen.”

This is a quote from a Winter Olympics TV ad, but it’s also a great example of how you can find inspiration everywhere you look.  Yes, that young athlete is talking about getting a gold medal at the Olympics, a great goal for their abilities and stage in live.

For those of us in midlife, how can we begin today to make what seems impossible right now, happen in the next few years?

I’m coming from a place of recently experiencing an amazing and what I would have considered, impossible transformation of my own life in the past few years.  Picture this, only a few years ago I was absolutely convinced that I was the biggest midlife loser around, and I don’t mean weight loss here!  I had no children, I was unemployed, felt like a total failure, and massively depressed.  If someone had said to me at that exact moment in time, “Your life is going to be the BEST it has ever been in just a few years.”  I probably would have laughed my ass off!

But one thing I did know was that NOTHING WAS GOING TO CHANGE unless I made it happen.  So, not having a clue where to begin, I started my own matchmaking service.  Strange place to start, but I figured I needed a date AND a job.  Turns out matchmaking picked up my spirits and showed me I was not alone in my plight.  I met all sorts of cool and interesting midlife singles who were struggling to change their lives for the better; trying to connect with others with a shared experience and compassion for each others’ very human condition.

That effort did not solve my employment dilemma, but it did convince me how “normal” my situation was and built up my self-confidence a bit, while connecting me with the love of my life!  YEAH! Then I had to spend a bit more time and money finding my own right livelihood.

As most of you know, this is NO EASY TASK!  I struggled most of my life to believe in myself enough to trust my own inner vision and wisdom.  I needed to learn how to turn off those old, negative tapes that ran constantly in my head. You know, the ones that keep telling you that you can’t possibly have exactly what you want.  That nasty compromising spirit.

The gift is when you finally find the strength of character to turn off the negativity and follow your own heart.  When you believe in your own power enough to begin doing whatever it is you know you need to be doing right now.

For me, that turned out to be coaching others into becoming their best self.   I LOVE cheering others on as they experience various ups and downs on their way to their own personal epiphany.   I found my own right livelihood and I hope you can too!  When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer!

But if you need some help along the way, please give me a call!
