Online therapy as effective as face-to-face

by midlifecrisisqueen on September 1, 2009

This comes as no surprise to me, but a recent study in the Lancet found that online therapy can sometimes be more effective than working with a therapist face-to-face.

“Experts say the Internet has enormous potential for psychotherapy, especially for reaching people who do not have access to in-person care.  People may be more willing to talk about things that are embarrassing or stigmatizing if they’re not interacting face to face with a therapist.”
