The horrors of a Candida fungal infection

by midlifecrisisqueen on April 27, 2009

For those who have been following my progress towards health after months of an itchy, nasty rash and continuous bubbles of infection on my toes and feet, I have GREAT news!  After seeing seven traditional doctors who were absolutely useless, I finally consulted a naturopathic practitioner.  He helped me identify the culprit, and we are now busily working together to kill off the Candida albicans which has invaded my intestinal tract.

How do I know it’s Candida?  Because all of my symptoms are finally gone!  With homeopathic meds, herbs and a complete change in diet, we have nipped the infection in the bud and I feel 500% better than I did two weeks ago.  I am so relieved to finally understand why I felt so bad for so long.  I absolutely refused to accept my dermatologist’s diagnosis of eczema because she said she could do nothing to cure it!  An allergist also didn’t have a clue.

Isn’t it ironic that the only medical person who could actually help me, is not even allowed by my health insurance company?  The naturopath and dietician helped me the most and they are not covered by health insurance.   Come to think of it, the same was true for the CFS cure I found for Mike.  I consulted with an MD in the UK and then the effective treatment was all OTC supplements not covered by insurance.  It says a lot about how screwed up our medical system is in America!

I have learned so much throughout this five month process and now I hope to write articles for any magazines that are willing to teach others about how deadly the traditional American diet really is!

Of course it’s tough to get anyone to listen until they have a condition like mine with no cure in sight!  But 75% of us will experience symptoms from yeast overgrowth at some point in our lives!  Why not get ahead of the game?
