My ex and I weren't even together a month before I realised how strong the connection between us was, it may have been because we were so alike (I'm still a slight skeptic) we used to say that I was like a female version of him and he a male version of me.

I did think it may have just been that we were so similar but we would be sitting next to each other and I would think something and literally seconds after I had thought it he would say it or the other way around, not only that but I would sit and think about him and think I wish he would call right now so I could talk to him or I really want to talk to him right now and he would call me.

Not only that but I could sense his thoughts, I could tell when he was lying to me - without any proof. I could read him better than anyone I've ever met.

As I said I am a sceptic but it felt really strong between us, the other thing is that it only seemed to work that strongly when things were going well for us but even then we would do it but not as much.

I've never done things like that with anyone I've ever met, it felt like it was on a totally diifferent level.

If I could met another person I could have that with I would definitely pay more attention to it.

In a relationship, one mind revises another; one heart changes its partner. This astounding legacy of our combined status as mammals and neural beings is limbic revision: the power to remodel the emotional parts of the people we love, as our Attractors activate certain limbic pathways, and the brain's inexorable memory mechanism reinforces them.

Who we are and who we become depends, in part, on whom we love. That is the basis for a love story (about two think as one) reported in the New Yorker magazine a few years ago. Here is the URL of a blog posting regarding this story that you might find interesting, too:

hello, nice blog you have got here. I know what you are talking about and I have experienced this with some of my closest friends..! And you can call this a mere co-incidence or telepathy, I recently wrote about something similar on my last blog Connections.

Cheers and keep blogging!

Deborah:
I'm not so sure it has to do with mutual knowledge of each other because Mike and I have been like this since the day we met over four years ago. It's almost like we knew each other in a previous lifetime or something like that!

My husband and I do this all the time -- complete each other's thoughts and sentences. Sometimes it's downright scary, but also a testimony to how close we've become through our 28 years of marriage. It's great to have a real soul mate, even if he read your mind! :-)

I have experienced this connection with some close friends and my husband. I think it comes from mutual knowledge of each other, being able to read faces and body language etc. When you get to that point, it's a wonderful (and potentially dangerous) turning point in a relationship!
