Rasta grows up!

rasta-for-blog

For those of you who remember my terminally cute Christmas puppy Rasta, I thought you might like an update.  Rasta is now 4 months old, and he has recently been given the nickname Einstein because unfortunately, he isn’t the sharpest crayon in the box, if you know what I mean…

But we love him all the same, especially since he finally learned the basics of going outside to do his business!  His favorite toys are towels and toilet paper rolls, but he also enjoyed playing with the rocks I collected on a hike today.  Yes, the dog plays with rocks!

OK, so we’re a little bit worried and embarrassed with the lack of brilliance in our progeny.  Oh well, he keeps us laughing at the very least!

He’s so cute he doesn’t need to be smart!

So glad he’s become part of the family! Enjoy :~)

Laura, some of the best horses are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, but they can make awfully good mounts. We thought for years our mare, Liberty Sunshine (Marcie), the middle horse in my portrait, was dumb. She wasn’t. She played dumb because of her buddy, Franny, the dominant horse. When Franny died, and Aria moved in, and later, Scooter and Hannah, Marcie became the Diva, and ruled the corral with an iron hoof until her death at 30. My doggie nephew, Rasta, may surprise you. After all, he had you to the point of weeping that first week, and snickered to himself when you weren’t looking. He is a cutie!
Check out my most bizarre post for 3/2/09.

Rasta just gets cuter by the day! I’m not convinced that he lacks intelligence; maybe he is just quite independent.

Hey, Laura, I just thought of a dog-related intelligence question. Siberian Huskies are thought by many to be stupid because they do not respond well, unless they are intensely trained. Actually, they are among the smartest dogs on the planet. They can look stoooopid because they are stubborn and independent! Maybe Rasta is playing head games with you. Don’t think for a minute that dogs can’t do that. You will get to know him better as you go along. Those Shih Tzus are pretty smart doggies. Talk to you soon. Read my post about exploding bats’ lungs.

Maybe he’s smarter than you think. He’s got you trained to collect “toys” for him to play with, after all. ;)
