I’m so excited about reaching so many new people through the CBS4DEnver news segment this morning!
Please know that I do this for you. I’ve done the research and I know that depression is most common worldwide for those in their 40′s and early 50′s. The suicide rate is also rising quickly in this age group according to a recent Center for Disease Control report.
I went through my own midlife hell a few years ago (divorce, job loss, menopause, career change, etc.) and wished I had some way to connect with others so we could help each other out in the toughest of times. Now my life has improved dramatically and I feel compelled to offer support and hope to others who don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel.
There is light! And if you put your heart and soul into changing your life for the better, if you begin looking at ALL OF YOUR OPTIONS and find the freedom to dream just a little about your best life from here on out, you may just get there!
I’m here to say it is entirely POSSIBLE.

Hi Laura Lee,
I recorded the news show and watched it at 8am I wanted to see you but not at 6am! How exciting that you are getting visibility on one of the major Denver TV stations. Your message is right-on and your experience backs it up. I’m happy for your success.

Hi Laura,
I was so glad to hear your testimony on channel 4 news. I recently left a job after much thought because I felt my position was in jeoprady if I stayed. The job was not a good fit. However, i took the opportunity as a judgement made from the heart. I decided to leave in order to pursue something better. It was a difficult decision in this economy. Yet everything has pointed me towards taking advantage of this time to pursue my own personal vision. I have been struggling to really search myself to find out what that means to me.
I am 51 years old. After hearing you, I am encouraged and excited, and a little scared all at the same time. I wish you well & continued success. I will keep both of us in my prayers.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate any advice you may have.
Dee
Thanks for your comment Dee.
Good for you for taking the risk to make your life better! If not now, when? We never know how much time we have left to pursue our dreams. I believe in living without regrets.
I’m sure you’ll find right livelihood if you open up your heart and mind and look seriously at ALL OF YOUR OPTIONS! I’m glad to provide encouragement in your search.

Laura:
I saw you on channel four the other night and thought, hmmm…I wished I had someone to talk to when I went through my mid life crisis. I spiraled out of control after a divorce (my husband found someone on the Internet), lost a high-powered job, then menopause..oh my! Then I started to look like a middle-aged matronly woman. That is so not the look I was going for.
I did my research, started my own blog (http://dezzdito.wordpress.com/) about what I was feeling and began to take action. I decided after 31 years of cutting men’s hair, it was time to do what I really was passionate about-writing. Then I hit the gym and got my body back in shape.
I love my life now and feel oh so liberated. The kids are gone now and so are a bunch of friends I had that I suddenly realized I no longer wanted. I called it the “Menopause Hit List.” Something happens when we get to this age and discover we have toxic relationships. There is only one thing to do, clean house!
I am much happier now and will read your blog from now on. Thanks for all you do for yourself first and then for the rest of us poor souls swimming out there in the abyss.

Hey Desiree:
You sound like my kind of midlifer..you already crack me up! Esp. your menopause hit list! Don’t you just hate that matronly look. I couldn’t believe it when I saw myself on TV…the camera adds a lot more than 10 pounds I think!
Keep up the good work. Love your blog. I think I lost my last job for exactly those reasons. I can’t put up with assholes anymore! Life’s too short!

You go Girl! Life is too short to be miserable. Menopause is a curse that one turns into a masterpiece.
