Today marks the one year anniversary of this blog!
Happy Birthday to US!
Little did I know when I started on this scary, new adventure a year ago, that I would still be writing faithfully every other day, or that I would gain such a loyal following of fellow midlife sojourners.
My acceptance into the worldwide virtual community of older adults seeking knowledge and fellowship as we all take on a whole new stage of life, has been such a joy for me!
I am proud to announce that I have received close to 40,000 views of my blog at this point in time, and posted over 200 articles, announcements and essays. My comment count is now over 300!
My greatest joy has been the inspiration you have all contributed to the formation of my forthcoming book: Midlife Magic: Becoming the person you are inside!
I am thrilled to announce that I have finished revising the original manuscript, and it is now being edited and formatted for publication as a paperback. Best case scenario, it might be available on Amazon by Christmas!
To celebrate this milestone, I’ve combed through my archive of comments from you, and compiled a short anthology of a few of my favorite responses from my brave and wise readers.
Please read on:
“Laura, what a haven is your website! Thanks for your honest and intelligent reflections, as well as the resources and the networking.”
“Thank you from one 50 year old in search of self and new love to another! God Bless You! Keep up the good work —Thank you for your kind, thoughtful and honest approach to this second half of life!”
My all time favorite is this one:
“I never expected to stumble upon your site while going through a crisis on my own. Actually quit reading, after 2 hours, to go get a book you had mentioned (on Highly Sensitive People), and read THAT cover to cover today. You have touched my life like no one has. Thank you for your insight!”
I started this blog because I didn’t have a place like this to turn to when I was going through the worst of my crises. Here I try to provide posts that keep our spirits up, while also helping us learn and grow through the changes in our lives…I only know a blog like this would have really helped me back in 2001!

The longest journey begins with the first step!
Be careful what you step in!
Yes, I’ve stepped in quite a bit since I started this blog! LLC
