Is it just me? When did all the stores at the shopping mall start carrying only clothes for those 20 and under?
Granted, I don’t go shopping much…and now I know why! I had one simple desire. To find one pair of blue twill pants that fit me well. I spent hours and found nothing! Can I be such a strange shape and size that there are no slacks in my entire town that fit me? I think of myself as a fairly average size 53 year old.
The irony is that I went shopping in an effort to cheer myself up! I’ve been feeling unhappy and anxious about my writing lately, and I thought perhaps a bit of shop therapy might work its wonders. Instead I’m left feeling stymied and distressed! Where do I buy pants now? Please send me your suggestions asap!
I feel like I’ve just discovered a conspiracy afoot to make us midlifers stop wearing pants or stop leaving the house or something! When did this happen, and was I asleep? Did I miss the memo? Was there an announcement on the evening news: “This just in, manufacturers will no longer make slacks for women of a certain age and size. They will have to stay home from now on.”

Did you try the Centerra Mall? I like J. Jill, Chicos, and Christopher and Bank. Marshall’s and TJ Maxx are also places to try.
