Thanks Brad! Same with me! I got married for the first time at 39 and it was downhill from there! By 46 I was divorced and lost my job around 49...best things that ever happened to me! Talk about a wakeup call! Time to re-think my life plan and start taking 100% responsibility for myself and my own future.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

So true!
At 45, the divorce after the 20 year marriage, one child injured, the other arrested, girlfriend dies of cancer, got fired just before the holidays, yes, depression happens! Does it get better? Yes, it does. It does take some time and determination to see it through. I knew I would make it. Others in poorer health, with fewer resources and less support have survived worse and even blossomed! I'm 57, still "resingle" and enjoying Life more now than any time in recent memory. Still hoping for a relationship to develop and enjoying the journey until it does. Oh the things you will learn!

Hi! I saw your blog listed on Writer Gazette and wanted to pay you a visit. I just turned forty so I guess I'm officially middle aged. I've struggled with depression on and off for most of my life, so I read this blog entry with real interest. It's good to know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I look forward to exploring your blog more and to reading future posts.
